Train Control & Monitoring System (TCMS) controls sub-systems installed onboard of a train. It collects data from sub-systems on each car of a train and displays relevant information. The TCMS continuously supervises the correct operation of train sub-systems and minimizes faults of train operation by raising an audible alarm and by initiating the appropriate action related to the nature of the fault. It can perform sequence testing of all connected systems as part of the built-in maintenance routines. Also the TCMS provides information supporting the maintenance staff by determining the nature and cause of a failure. Operational and failure record data are continuously recorded and can be downloaded onto a memory card for further analysis at the depot.
